City of Austin plans a new $1.26 Billion expansion project in Austin, Texas
Austin, Texas — According to state and local development sources, City of Austin plans to invest $1.26 Billion to build out 1,358,099 square feet of new space in Austin. The project consists of Architecture and Engineering (A/E) services for the redevelopment and expansion of the Austin Convention Center (ACC) building in downtown Austin. The city plans to occupy the new space at 500 East 3rd Street in Austin, on or about May 1, 2029. According to the city website, an award-winning employer, the City of Austin has a Council-Manager form of government and employs 13.8K employees. The City Manager, appointed by the City Council, is responsible to the Council for the management of City employees, and for the administration of all City affairs. In order to achieve the vision of making Austin the most livable city in the country, Austin’s city governments mission is to be the best-managed city in the country.
