Mashpee, Massachusetts — According to state and local development sources, Town of Mashpee plans to build a New Mashpee Police Headquarters in Mashpee. The town plans to occupy the new space at 19 Frank E. Hicks Dr. in Mashpee, on or about November 1, 2026. According to the company website The Town of Mashpee is rich in natural beauty from its seashore with sandy beaches and majestic views of Nantucket Sound and Vineyard Sound to four of the largest freshwater ponds on Cape Cod. Boating, fishing, bathing and relaxation can be enjoyed on the Towns waterways, which are found extensively on South Cape Beach, Waquoit Bay and Popponesset Bay. The Mashpee River, a Town centerpiece, is a glistening ribbon that stretches from our largest and most popular freshwater kettle pond south for five miles until it reaches the saltwater of Popponesset Bay and Nantucket Sound. Mashpee is laced with endless walking trails where nature and tranquility can be fulfilled. Recreation, entertainment, and opportunities for fun are bountiful through scheduled special events and other venues. The fresh water and salt water beaches with gentle waves are wonderful for family outings. Local businesses provide ample opportunities for casual or fine dining and spirits while stores and small shops offer a wide range of merchandise and unique keepsakes. Local golf courses, pickleball courts and a dog park provide alternative activities. Please visit the Mashpee Recreation website for summer concerts and other events or the Mashpee Chamber of Commerce website for updated activities. To simply relax, visit Heritage Park. For those interested in history, visit the One Room Schoolhouse at the Community Park, across from Town Hall. While you are there, visit the Veterans Garden, where respect can be paid to those who served and sacrificed. Mashpee is also a very historic community home of the Wampanoag Native Americans, who have lived here for thousands of years. We welcome people to learn about the culture and traditions of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe. A Town of approximately 15,000 people year round that expands during the summer months, Mashpee strives to retain its small-town feel and is proud of the fact that almost 50% of its land is in protected status.
