San Antonio, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas (TMMTX) plans to invest $3.6 Billion to expand in San Antonio. The company is creating 2,000 new jobs at this facility. The company plans to occupy the new space at 1 Lone Star Pass in San Antonio, on or about October 1, 2028. According to the company website, A new truck rolls off the line every 60 seconds at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas. This efficiency and speed are a result of hard work and dedication from Team Texas comprised of 3,800+ employees who assemble Tundras and Sequoias, as well as the more than 20 on-site suppliers that employ an additional 5,600 people. TMMTX broke ground in San Antonio in 2003 and began operations in 2006. The automaker purchased 2,678 acres of ranchland, with a legacy dating back to 1794. To establish greenspace along Leon Creek and the Medina River, which borders the property on two sides, Toyota donated 678 acres of land to the city. Toyotas manufacturing facilities are the heart of all we do. Its where our design, engineering, research, and development are realized. To date, our team has assembled more than 40 million cars and trucks, and were only gaining speed. Located throughout North America are thousands of Toyotas highly skilled and dedicated production and support employees producing component parts and assembling vehicles, all with precision, innovative focus, and a customer-first mindset.
