SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Redcoat AI, a pioneering cybersecurity company at the forefront of combating AI-powered threats, today announced its emergence from stealth mode, backed by $4.24 million in funding led by Pear VC, with participation from Leonis Capital, Sancus Ventures, Kyber Knight, and others. Redcoat AI’s genesis was at Inception Studio, a nonprofit accelerator for experienced founders.

“Redcoat’s focus on cybersecurity meets the current moment and the ever-evolving landscape of digital threats. Their AI and cybersecurity acumen positions them as leaders in the space, and we’re excited to support their vision for safeguarding organizations in the generative AI era”

Founded by a team of seasoned cybersecurity and AI experts, Redcoat AI uses the latest AI innovations to build defenses against sophisticated cybersecurity attacks, including AI-powered social engineering attacks that use contextual information, deep fakes, and human-like interactions.

“We founded Redcoat AI at a pivotal moment for cybersecurity. With generative AI, bad actors now have the ability to craft highly realistic and hyper-personalized attacks with unprecedented sophistication and scale. But AI also offers unique opportunities for innovative defenses. We are thrilled by the opportunity to create a new cybersecurity platform for the AI era,” said John Whaley, Redcoat AI’s CEO who is also a serial founder and an Adjunct Lecturer in Computer Science at Stanford University.

Redcoat AI’s platform offers a dual approach to cybersecurity — an on-demand red teaming service for social engineering attacks, and mobile defense that extends comprehensive protection across SMS, WhatsApp, and other messaging platforms.

“Redcoat’s focus on cybersecurity meets the current moment and the ever-evolving landscape of digital threats. Their AI and cybersecurity acumen positions them as leaders in the space, and we’re excited to support their vision for safeguarding organizations in the generative AI era,” said Mar Hershenson, Managing Partner at Pear VC.

With today’s funding announcement, Redcoat AI is poised to redefine the cybersecurity landscape. The investment will accelerate the platform’s development and expand its reach. As cyber threats grow more sophisticated, Redcoat AI stands ready to enable security leaders to protect their people, their most precious assets.
