Eastland, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Eastland County plans to invest $1,000,000.00 to build out 1,353 square feet of new space in Eastland. The company plans to occupy the space at 201 W White Street in Eastland, on or about May 1, 2027. According to the company website, Created in 1858 by the Texas Legislature, Eastland County, Texas is located in Central West Texas. Named after Capt. William Mosby Eastland, a victim of the Black Bean Execution, it transformed from a heavily wooded frontier to a bustling hub of agriculture, oil booms, and quirky folklore. Much of the present economy of Eastland County is centered around agriculture. In the 1980s the county had 498,000 of its 609,000 acres in farms and ranches; of this some 17,000 acres was irrigated. Cattle ranching was the most important sector of the economy, however; in 1982 about 52,000 cattle were reported in the county. The county is well situated near the metropolitan areas of Dallas and Fort Worth and served by major highways, including Interstate 20 from east to west and U.S. 183 from north to south.
