Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston to spend $20 Million to occupy 45,600 square feet of space in Houston Texas.
Houston, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston plans to invest $20,000,000.00 to build out 45,600 square feet of new space in Houston. The company plans to occupy the new space at 6700 Mt. Carmel St. in Houston, on or about March 1, 2027. According to their website Cristo Rey Jesuit is a Catholic college preparatory school that exclusively serves young men and women who would not otherwise be able to afford a private education. We prepare students to be college-ready and career-prepared! We achieve this through a rigorous academic curriculum and an innovative Corporate Work-Study Program that places students in Houston businesses and nonprofits where they earn up to 40 percent of the cost of their education. Since our first graduation in 2013, we have graduated 1,372 alumni who earned more than $146 million in scholarships with a 100% college acceptance rate. On August 10, 2009, Founding President Fr. TJ Martinez, SJ, along with his Board of Trustees and Directors opened Cristo Rey Jesuit with an inaugural class of 82 students, each of whom worked at leading businesses and corporations across Houston. Sponsored by the Jesuits of the Central and Southern Province, it was the first Jesuit Cristo Rey school in the southern part of the United States. Today, under the visionary leadership of President Rev. Randall S. Gibbens, SJ, the school is one of the largest in the Cristo Rey Network. Now, with nearly 520 enrolled students and 1,372 alumni, we are celebrating 16 years of miracles and milestones, and looking to the future.
