Saint Hedwig, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Bexar County Emergency Services District #12 plans to invest $4,000,000.00 to build out 7,200 square feet of new space in Saint Hedwig. The company plans to occupy the space at 3354 E. Fm 1518 N. in Saint Hedwig, on or about February 1, 2027. According to the company website, The mission of Bexar County ESD 12 Fire / Rescue is to enhance the safety and protect those who reside and travel through district of Bexar County ESD No. 12. We are committed to ensure we are creating a safer district through preparedness and effective emergency response. The department also staffs about 10 trained professional volunteer firefighters. Bexar County Emergency Services District is a combination department servicing the far East Side of Bexar County. We provide Fire, Rescue, and Medical First Response services to approximately 92 square miles in our district which includes the City of Saint Hedwig, TX. ESD 12 covers approximately 92 square miles. In our response area we service residential neighborhoods, farm land, heavy brush and even hazardous materials. We are dedicated to planning, and will continue to plan for future to protect and serve our citizens and our community. After Bexar County Emergency Services District No. 12 was established 2007 by the registered voters of the district, we have continued to expand and develop. Bexar County ESD No. 12 currently services calls and runs out of two stations Station 191 and Station 192. Station 191 is located within the city limits of Saint Hedwig out of the original historic volunteer Fire Station and Station 192 is located off Highway 87. Both Stations are staffed 24/7 with career staff. We have purchased property off FM 1518 for Station 3. we are currently in the design process for the build of Station (Groundbreaking Possibly March 2023) We are currently in the process of purchasing land for Stations 4 (Graytown Rd & Freudenburg Rd,) Station 5 (Stuart Rd & New Sulphur Springs), Station 6 (Loop 1604 & Bernhardt Rd), Station 7 (FM 2538 & New Berlin Rd).
