Augment Raises $85M Series A to Supercharge Augie, The AI Teammate for Logistics

September 19, 2025 Craig Etkin

$110M total raised as Augie now supports $35B in freight under management, transforming logistics operations from order to cash for shippers, brokers and carriers

SAN FRANCISCO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Augment, the AI productivity platform for logistics, announced today that it has raised $85 million in Series A funding, bringing its total capital raised to $110 million just five months after launching out of stealth. The round was led by Redpoint Ventures, with participation from 8VC, Shopify Ventures, Autotech Ventures, and other leading investors in logistics and AI.

Augment Raises $85M Series A to Supercharge Augie, The AI Teammate for LogisticsShare

This new capital will accelerate the development of Augie, Augment’s flagship AI teammate for logistics, and scale hiring across engineering and go-to-market functions. It will also power the rapid expansion of Augie into even more end-to-end logistics workflows for shippers, brokers, carriers, and distributors.

“We invested in Augment because they’re creating the system of work the logistics industry has always needed through AI-driven, end-to-end automation,” said Jacob Effron, Managing Director at Redpoint Ventures. “Customers consistently highlight Augment’s speed, deeply collaborative approach, and transformative impact on productivity. Augment pairs unmatched logistics expertise with rapid innovation, uniquely positioning them to redefine how logistics operates.”

“Enterprises are tired of juggling disconnected AI tools. What they need is a single platform that delivers real, end-to-end value,” said Burak Cendek, partner at Autotech Ventures. “That’s what Augment is building, and Harish and his co-founders have the expertise to make it happen. We’re proud to back them and open our enterprise network to help drive their vision forward.”

End-to-End, Not One-Off Automation

Unlike legacy RPA tools, voice bots, or point solutions that address narrow tasks, Augie operates across the full order-to-cash lifecycle. It understands the context of every shipment, proactively resolves issues, and acts across systems—email, phone, TMS, portals, and chat—to get work done.

From quoting and dispatch to tracking, appointment scheduling, document collection, and billing, Augie is designed to reduce load touches, shorten cycle times, and free up human operators for higher-value work.

“Logistics runs on millions of decisions—under pressure, across fragmented systems, and with too many tabs open,” said Harish Abbott, co-founder and CEO of Augment. “Augie doesn’t just assist. It takes ownership.”

Trusted by Logistics Operators & Leaders

In just five months, Augie has been adopted by dozens of top 3PLs and shippers and now supports over $35 billion in freight under management.

At Armstrong Transport Group, a $1.3B brokerage, Augie is already changing how work gets done on the front lines.

“If it gets sent to Augie, it gets done,” said William McManus, Operations Specialist at Armstrong. “He gives me the context, finds the docs, and even flags issues before they escalate. I finally get to log off when I log off.”

That frontline impact is translating to enterprise-wide gains.

“We’ve seen reps go from managing 10 loads a day to 20 or 30—with higher morale and stronger customer service,” said Cameron Ramsdell, CEO of Armstrong. “AI should show up on every line of the P&L—and Augie is already delivering.”

Armstrong is one of many customers experiencing real impact. Here’s a sample of what customers are seeing.

  • 40% reduction in invoice delays
  • Billing cycles accelerated by 8 days
  • 5%+ gross margin recovery per load
  • $1M+ potential track and trace payroll savings at one firm – millions more across all customers

Building Freight’s AI Future

With this new funding, Augment will accelerate its product roadmap and hiring, focusing on:

  • Hiring 50+ engineers to push the frontier of agentic AI
  • Expanding Augie into multimodal operations for brokers, shippers, and carriers
  • Launching sales and back-office automation, including pricing support and customer insights
  • Deepening integrations with TMS platforms, load boards, freight portals, and communication channels
  • Building a freight-native knowledge base to enable more proactive and intelligent automation

Built by Operators and Technologists

Augment was founded by Harish Abbott, who previously co-founded Deliverr (acquired by Shopify for $2.1B). The team includes veterans from Shopify, YRC Worldwide, Google, Flexport, and leading AI research labs.

“Freight is essential but often unsung,” said Abbott. “We’re building Augie for the people behind the freight—so they can focus on the work that actually matters.”

Flex has closed a $60 million Series B equity round led by Portage, bringing total equity raised to $105 million. In the last year, the company has quadrupled revenue and tripled its payments volume to $3 billion as it scales its all-in-one business and personal finance platform for high-net-worth middle-market business owners. Running a profitable middle-market business has become one of the most complex financial jobs in America, with owners often juggling more than ten disconnected systems to manage their money. Flex was created to give these high net worth owners a single place to run both their business and personal finances. This latest $60 Million equity round, followed by its $200 Million debt and $25 Million equity raise announced earlier this year, builds on a period of rapid hypergrowth. In just 12 months, Flex has grown revenue fourfold and increased annualized total payments volume from $1 billion to $3 billion across a suite of products, positioning Flex as one of the fastest-growing fintech companies at scale with best-in-class capital efficiency.

Flex is building the category-defining company solving this gap for high net worth business owners with a five-pillar strategy built around private credit, a business finance stack, a personal finance stack, payment solutions, and an ERP built for middle market businesses. Once owners experience the benefits of the Flex Credit Card, they often go on to adopt Flex’s banking, payments, working capital, and expense management tools to replace fragmented legacy systems. This integrated model has allowed Flex to scale with high efficiency and has created a strong foundation for its expansion into personal finance.

Across the United States, a new industrial age is taking shape. Trillions of dollars in infrastructure, from energy projects and advanced manufacturing to data centers and critical mineral facilities, must be built in the next decade. But large construction projects are slower and more expensive today than they were half a century ago. Unlimited Industries, a California-based company using AI to rethink how infrastructure gets built, has raised $12 million in seed funding to change that. The round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and CIV, with participation from leading industry investors. The capital will accelerate Unlimited’s expansion and further develop its proprietary AI platform – one designed to make large-scale engineering and construction faster, cheaper, and more ambitious.

Unlike traditional construction firms or standard software companies, Unlimited is an AI-native construction company that both designs and builds. Its proprietary platform can generate and evaluate hundreds of thousands of design configurations in parallel, automatically identifying optimal layouts for cost, safety, and performance before construction begins. By integrating AI-driven design with its own vertically integrated engineering and construction teams, Unlimited eliminates the costly handoffs and misaligned incentives that have defined the industry for decades.

In a statement Alex Modon, Co-Founder and CEO of Unlimited Industries said, “Advances in AI mean we can finally build the physical world the way we build software.” “The traditional construction model is slow, brittle, and fundamentally misaligned. Our approach replaces static design choices with a dynamic, data-driven process that learns from every project. The result is faster, cheaper, and more successful projects.”

Unlimited is an AI-native construction company headquartered in San Francisco. Today, the company designs and builds across energy infrastructure, data centers, critical minerals, and advanced manufacturing, helping developers build with greater speed, ambition, and efficiency. Their mission is to build a future of radical physical abundance by automating construction end-to-end. The company was founded in 2025 by serial founders Alex Modon, Jordan Stern, and Tara Viswanathan.
