Zesty Paws Founder Raises $3M for Other Half® to Redefine Pet Wellness With Science and Simplicity

Zesty Paws Founder Raises $3M for Other Half® to Redefine Pet Wellness With Science and Simplicity

June 30, 2025 Craig Etkin

Backed by Willow Growth, Habitat Partners, and Off Leash Capital, the brand looks to streamline pet supplements with clinically backed, high-impact formulas

LOS ANGELES, June 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — AJ Patel, the founder who helped build Zesty Paws® into one of the most recognized names in pet wellness, is back with a bold new venture—and a fresh round of funding to power it forward.

Patel, along with co-founder Mike Watts, today announced a $3 million seed round for their new company, Other Half®, a science-first pet wellness brand built for today’s ingredient-savvy, results-driven pet parents. The round was led by Willow Growth, with participation from Habitat Partners and Off Leash Capital (a division of Chicago Pacific Founders).

“We’ve been inside this category long enough to understand the real challenges pets and their owners face—and where legacy brands fall short,” said AJ Patel, co-founder of Other Half®. This is a space we helped shape, and we’re reentering it with a clear mission: to lead with transparency, simplify wellness routines, and deliver meaningful results—not marketing noise.”

The new capital will be used to grow Other Half’s® innovation pipeline, make strategic hires across marketing and product development, and scale the brand’s already high-performing direct-to-consumer and Amazon presence with Everyday™ and Doggie Dental™.

Fast Traction in a Crowded Space
Since launching in November 2024 with the flagship products Everyday™ and Doggie Dental™ the brand has seen:

  • Thousands of new consumers purchase the brand every month with repeat consumers growing at +25% month over month
  • Over 4K consumers signup for subscriptions and growing at +35% month over month (across all platforms).
  • Over 400 5-star reviews for Everyday™ and Doggie Dental™
  • Millions of online store sessions
  • Amazon rankings climbing to top #15 dog multivitamin on Amazon within months of launch

“We back consumer brands that know how to move fast, build trust, and scale efficiently,” said Deborah Benton, Managing Partner of Willow Growth. “Consumers today demand science-backed, clean and effective ingredients to drive optimal pet health and longevity. With AJ and Mike, we’re backing not just great products, but proven entrepreneurs and operators who’ve already won in this space—and are about to do it again.”

Why Now: A Category Ready for Reinvention
Patel knows the pet wellness space well. As founder of Zesty Paws®, he scaled the brand into a category leader known for its functional formulas and approachable consumer voice. In 2021, Zesty Paws® was acquired by H&H Group in one of the largest strategic transactions in pet supplements to date.

That experience also gave Patel a front-row seat to the downside of rapid growth: a market saturated with copycat products, underdosed formulas, and brands prioritizing marketing over meaningful, simplified outcomes. Pet parents were left confused—and with shelves full of products delivering little real benefit. It revealed a clear gap in the market: rising consumer demand for transparency, simplicity, clean, human-grade ingredients, and science-backed wellness—needs that most brands still fail to meet.

Other Half® was built to change that. The brand increases the level of active ingredients per serving to deliver multiple benefits in fewer products. Its Everyday™ formula supports digestion, joint health, skin and coat, immunity, and healthy aging—all in one clinically guided blend.

A Familiar Playbook, Sharpened
Now entering a $2B+ category, Other Half® brings a new level of focus: science-backed formulation, human-grade ingredients, and a commitment to transparency. Its hero products—Everyday™ and Doggie Dental™ tackle some of the most critical yet underserved areas of canine health, including oral care, mobility, and digestion. The brand is also investing in consumer education and storytelling to help pet parents better understand what they’re giving their pets—and why it matters.

About Other Half™
Launched in 2024, Other Half® is a premium pet supplement brand built for the no-nonsense pet parent. Founded by AJ Patel and Mike Watts, the company crafts clinically reviewed, powder-based solutions that are clean, effective, and transparent. All products are human-grade, rigorously tested, and designed to deliver real benefits without the fluff.

Flex has closed a $60 million Series B equity round led by Portage, bringing total equity raised to $105 million. In the last year, the company has quadrupled revenue and tripled its payments volume to $3 billion as it scales its all-in-one business and personal finance platform for high-net-worth middle-market business owners. Running a profitable middle-market business has become one of the most complex financial jobs in America, with owners often juggling more than ten disconnected systems to manage their money. Flex was created to give these high net worth owners a single place to run both their business and personal finances. This latest $60 Million equity round, followed by its $200 Million debt and $25 Million equity raise announced earlier this year, builds on a period of rapid hypergrowth. In just 12 months, Flex has grown revenue fourfold and increased annualized total payments volume from $1 billion to $3 billion across a suite of products, positioning Flex as one of the fastest-growing fintech companies at scale with best-in-class capital efficiency.

Flex is building the category-defining company solving this gap for high net worth business owners with a five-pillar strategy built around private credit, a business finance stack, a personal finance stack, payment solutions, and an ERP built for middle market businesses. These customers now use an average of four or more Flex products. Flex’s Business Credit Card, which provides 60-day float on every transaction, has been a major driver of adoption, acting as the wedge into deeper financial operations. Once owners experience the benefits of the Flex Credit Card, they often go on to adopt Flex’s banking, payments, working capital, and expense management tools to replace fragmented legacy systems. This integrated model has allowed Flex to scale with high efficiency and has created a strong foundation for its expansion into personal finance.

Launched in 2023, Flex a Flexbase Technologies brand is the AI Native “Private Bank” for high net worth business owners in the middle market. Flex is building the category-defining company solving this gap for high net worth business owners with a five-pillar strategy built around private credit, a business finance stack, a personal finance stack, payment solutions, and an ERP built for middle market businesses. Across the United States, a new industrial age is taking shape. Trillions of dollars in infrastructure, from energy projects and advanced manufacturing to data centers and critical mineral facilities, must be built in the next decade. But large construction projects are slower and more expensive today than they were half a century ago. Unlimited Industries, a California-based company using AI to rethink how infrastructure gets built, has raised $12 million in seed funding to change that. The round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and CIV, with participation from leading industry investors. The capital will accelerate Unlimited’s expansion and further develop its proprietary AI platform – one designed to make large-scale engineering and construction faster, cheaper, and more ambitious.

Unlike traditional construction firms or standard software companies, Unlimited is an AI-native construction company that both designs and builds. Its proprietary platform can generate and evaluate hundreds of thousands of design configurations in parallel, automatically identifying optimal layouts for cost, safety, and performance before construction begins. By integrating AI-driven design with its own vertically integrated engineering and construction teams, Unlimited eliminates the costly handoffs and misaligned incentives that have defined the industry for decades.

In a statement Alex Modon, Co-Founder and CEO of Unlimited Industries said, “Advances in AI mean we can finally build the physical world the way we build software.” “The traditional construction model is slow, brittle, and fundamentally misaligned. Our approach replaces static design choices with a dynamic, data-driven process that learns from every project. The result is faster, cheaper, and more successful projects.”

Unlimited is an AI-native construction company headquartered in San Francisco. Today, the company designs and builds across energy infrastructure, data centers, critical minerals, and advanced manufacturing, helping developers build with greater speed, ambition, and efficiency. Their mission is to build a future of radical physical abundance by automating construction end-to-end. The company was founded in 2025 by serial founders Alex Modon, Jordan Stern, and Tara Viswanathan.
