San Antonio, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Rivian plans to invest $1,000,000.00 to build out 27,660 square feet of new space in San Antonio. The company plans to occupy the new space at 8790 Crownhill Blvd in San Antonio, on or about June 1, 2024. According to the company website Rivian has developed and vertically integrated a connected electric platform that can be flexibly applied to a range of applications, including the companys adventure products as well as B2B products such as our last mile delivery vans. The companys launch products, the R1T and R1S, provide an unmatched combination of performance, off-road capability and utility. These vehicles will be produced at Rivians manufacturing plant in Normal, Ill., with customer deliveries expected to begin in fall 2021. We design for complete life cycles across everything we do. Our battery packs are designed to be easily removed from our vehicles and either recycled or used in “second life” applications such as stationary storage. The interiors of our vehicles are made from 100% animal-free materials. Dunnage containers at our plant are reusable and made from ocean-bound plastics. We are a network of offices, test labs, experience centers, service centers, charging stations and manufacturing sites, all interconnected by thousands of employees. Our net zero emissions commitment requires us to fully understand the carbon impact associated with our suppliers and service providers as well as our own operations. This drives our decisions and actions – from working on more sustainable raw material supply to aggressively managing our waste generation.
