Fort Myers, Florida — According to state and local development sources, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) plans to build out 64,000 square feet of new space in Fort Myers. The company plans to occupy the new space at I-75 Interstate Highway and north of Alico Road in Fort Myers, on or about August 1, 2026. According to the company website FDLE is composed of five areas: Executive Direction and Business Support, Criminal Investigations and Forensic Science, Criminal Justice Information, Criminal Justice Professionalism and Florida Capitol Police. In addition, the department formally coordinates boards, councils, and commissions. FDLE employs about 1,900 members statewide and has an annual budget is over $300 million. The department provides services across the state. Agency headquarters is in Tallahassee and there are seven regional operations centers located in Pensacola, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa Bay, Fort Myers and Miami.
