Melissa, Texas — According to state and local economic development sources City of Melissa plans to invest $14,000,000.00 to build out 35,715 square feet of new space in Melissa. The company plans to occupy the new space at 2402 McKinney Dr. in Melissa, on or about October 1, 2023. According to the company website The City of Melissa is a fast-growing progressive suburb with a small-town feel located 35 miles north of downtown Dallas, just two exits north of McKinney and the dynamic growth area of northeast Collin County. Melissa sits on 21 square miles, is home to over 10,000 people, and is easily accessible by way of three intersecting highways: US 75, SH 121, and SH 5. Melissa has ample inventory of the highly-sought-after undeveloped frontage available on US 75 and SH 121, primed to serve a retail trade area of over 40,000 people. A home-rule municipality, governed by a council-manager form of government, Melissa traces its beginnings back over 150 years ago. Construction is expected to begin this month and will take up to two years.
