Midland, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Bynum School plans to invest $5,750,000.00 to build out 35,000 square feet of new space in Midland. The company plans to occupy the new space at 5100 Avalon Dr. in Midland, on or about January 1, 2026. According to the company website Located in northwest Midland, Bynum School is the only public or private school in West Texas providing uninterrupted year-round services to students from age 3 to adult. Bynum School enrolls individuals who exhibit intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, learning disabilities of all types, unique and rare syndromes, and medical fragility. Bynum School has experienced phenomenal growth over the past five years, reflecting the communitys need for high-quality education for its special needs population. Bynum School focuses on abilities, not disabilities. Since 1984, Bynum School has provided an exceptional educational environment for individuals with disabilities as young as three through adults. Bynum School currently serves 123 students in the Permian Basin. Bynum Schools Preschool-High School Program, accredited by Cognia, helps students grow in academic, life, social, and behavioral skills. Bynum School also offers a Vocational Program for adults and teens with special needs by providing individualized educational and independent life skills training. Its Jobsite Training Program has successfully led many students to become productive citizens working in the Permian Basin community.
