Aransas Pass, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Amistad Community Health Center plans to invest $3,000,000.00 to build out 9,200 square feet of new space in Aransas Pass. The company plans to occupy the new space at 2254 W. Wheeler in Aransas Pass, on or about July 1, 2026. According to the company website Amistad Health, founded in 2005, began with a mission to provide quality, affordable healthcare to underserved populations in the Coastal Bend Community. In 2007, the center was designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and received federal funding. In 2008, Amistad began seeing Adult patients with only one service line and one doctor in Adult Primary healthcare. Amistad expanded services in 2011 to include Pediatrics; in 2015, the center added Womens Health and Dental care, and Behavioral Health was added in 2018. Amistad has grown into a comprehensive medical home that provides services for everyone of all ages, regardless of ability to pay. Amistad serves thousands of patients today, fulfilling its commitment to health equity and community well-being.
