Glider Raises $4 Million Strategic Funding Round Led by a16z CSX to Transform Crypto Portfolio Management

Announces Participation in a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator’s Spring Cohort

Glider’s Onchain Platform Empowers Traders by Eliminating Technical Barriers and Providing Accessible Tools for Cross-Chain Cryptocurrency Investing

NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Glider, the financial orchestration layer for building automated onchain investment portfolios, announced a $4 million strategic funding round led by a16z CSX, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Uniswap Ventures, First Commit, Selini Capital, GSR, Generative Ventures, Pivot Global, and MoonPay Ventures. In connection with the funding, Glider is also announcing its participation in the a16z Crypto Startup Accelerator (“CSX”) 04 Spring Cohort in San Francisco.

The new capital will be used to strategically expand the Glider team and accelerate its mission to democratize access to sophisticated crypto portfolio management for everyone, from first-time users to experienced investors.

Despite crypto’s rapid evolution, the onchain investment ecosystem remains constrained by fragmented infrastructure and technical complexity. Fundamental processes like token swapping, for instance, have changed little since the early days of Bancor and Uniswap, while the proliferation of new chains, different native gas tokens, and all of the bridging complexities that accompany them have turned portfolio management into a technical obstacle course. Even the most experienced investors must manually navigate gas fees, network switching, price impact, and slippage calculations, turning routine operations into complex, time-consuming tasks. Glider eliminates these barriers with an automation-first platform that enables seamless, precise portfolio execution for all users.

Founded in 2024 by John Johnson and Brian Huang, Glider seamlessly operates across both the application and infrastructure layers, offering a consumer-friendly B2C interface in addition to a powerful B2B API that unlocks unique B2B2C opportunities. As the infrastructure layer for DeFi automation, the Glider API is designed to embed portfolios directly into wallets, AI agents, decentralized exchanges, and lending protocols, powering the next evolution of the onchain economy.

Key features of the Glider platform include:

  • Portfolio Construction: Users can customize their investment approach using intuitive allocation tools or curated templates.
  • Automated Execution: Glider sources liquidity and manages rebalancing across chains to trigger trades.
  • Non-Custodial Integration: Connect any existing wallet (MetaMask, Rainbow, Safe, WalletConnect, etc.) without needing new seed phrases.
  • Integrated Lending: Glider optimizes yield by automatically lending through trusted DeFi lending protocols like AAVE.
  • Collaborative Investing: Users can share strategies and customize them to continuously refine portfolios.
  • Integrated Backtesting: Test strategies on the Glider interface using historical data and compare performance against BTC, ETH, and other benchmarks.

“Brian and I founded Glider out of frustration with the fragmented infrastructure that has long plagued crypto investment portfolios,” said John Johnson, Co-Founder of Glider. “Simple tasks like implementing and maintaining cross-chain strategies often result in hours of technical troubleshooting. Glider was built to eliminate that friction entirely, enabling precise, automated execution across networks. We are grateful to our investors for supporting Glider’s vision of making flawless execution the new standard for anyone with a market thesis to implement.”

Co-Founder Brian Huang added, “Onchain DeFi has plateaued. Many platforms offer the same basic functionality with no meaningful differentiation to users. Glider is DeFi’s next evolution, focused on simplicity and convenience, enabling anyone to trade onchain. We are grateful to be participating in the a16z CSX Spring Cohort, providing us with valuable partners who share our belief that sophisticated portfolios should be accessible to anyone, regardless of technical expertise.”

“As the asset class continues to mature, the need for sophisticated yet accessible investment tools has become increasingly critical,” said Hardi Meybaum, Managing Partner at First Commit. “Glider’s automation-driven approach addresses a fundamental gap in the market, positioning them to capture significant market share as more investors seek efficient ways to execute their strategies.”

Lex Sokolin, Co-Founder at Generative Ventures, stated, “The complexity of managing assets on multiple networks is a real barrier to adoption. Glider’s modern approach makes portfolio management more accessible for all types of users. This will lead to a better investment experience across Web3.”

“John and Brian are impressive builders who deeply understand both the technical nuances of efficient trade execution and the UX standards required to advance DeFi,” said Julia Rosenberg, Ventures Lead at Uniswap Ventures. “Glider’s approach to automated portfolio management is incredibly thoughtful, and we’re excited to support a team creating exceptional consumer trading experiences.”

Flex has closed a $60 million Series B equity round led by Portage, bringing total equity raised to $105 million. In the last year, the company has quadrupled revenue and tripled its payments volume to $3 billion as it scales its all-in-one business and personal finance platform for high-net-worth middle-market business owners. Running a profitable middle-market business has become one of the most complex financial jobs in America, with owners often juggling more than ten disconnected systems to manage their money. Flex was created to give these high net worth owners a single place to run both their business and personal finances. This latest $60 Million equity round, followed by its $200 Million debt and $25 Million equity raise announced earlier this year, builds on a period of rapid hypergrowth. In just 12 months, Flex has grown revenue fourfold and increased annualized total payments volume from $1 billion to $3 billion across a suite of products, positioning Flex as one of the fastest-growing fintech companies at scale with best-in-class capital efficiency.

Across the United States, a new industrial age is taking shape. Trillions of dollars in infrastructure, from energy projects and advanced manufacturing to data centers and critical mineral facilities, must be built in the next decade. But large construction projects are slower and more expensive today than they were half a century ago. Unlimited Industries, a California-based company using AI to rethink how infrastructure gets built, has raised $12 million in seed funding to change that. The round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and CIV, with participation from leading industry investors. The capital will accelerate Unlimited’s expansion and further develop its proprietary AI platform – one designed to make large-scale engineering and construction faster, cheaper, and more ambitious.

Unlike traditional construction firms or standard software companies, Unlimited is an AI-native construction company that both designs and builds. Its proprietary platform can generate and evaluate hundreds of thousands of design configurations in parallel, automatically identifying optimal layouts for cost, safety, and performance before construction begins. By integrating AI-driven design with its own vertically integrated engineering and construction teams, Unlimited eliminates the costly handoffs and misaligned incentives that have defined the industry for decades.

In a statement Alex Modon, Co-Founder and CEO of Unlimited Industries said, “Advances in AI mean we can finally build the physical world the way we build software.” “The traditional construction model is slow, brittle, and fundamentally misaligned. Our approach replaces static design choices with a dynamic, data-driven process that learns from every project. The result is faster, cheaper, and more successful projects.”

Unlimited is an AI-native construction company headquartered in San Francisco. Today, the company designs and builds across energy infrastructure, data centers, critical minerals, and advanced manufacturing, helping developers build with greater speed, ambition, and efficiency. Their mission is to build a future of radical physical abundance by automating construction end-to-end. The company was founded in 2025 by serial founders Alex Modon, Jordan Stern, and Tara Viswanathan.
