Stanton, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Martin County Hospital District plans to invest $34,065,000.00 to build out 90,400 square feet of new space in Stanton. Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. Now located in the heart of West Texas, MCHD was initially opened in 1949 near downtown Stanton. While the initial facility served the community well for many years, the time for change came in May 2012 when a new state-of-the-art, 18-bed facility was opened on the I20. The new facility was designed as a Critical Access Hospital to bring healthcare to the community members who really need it.
