Memphis, Tennessee — According to state and local development sources, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital plans to invest $17,650,000.00 to build out 128,225 square feet of new space in Memphis. The company plans to occupy the new space at 671 Galloway Ave in Memphis, on or about 10/1/2024. According to the company website St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital is a global leader in the research and treatment of pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases of childhood. Headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, St. Jude is the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children. St. Jude has been named a top pediatric cancer hospital on U.S. News & World Reports annual Best Hospitals list and named to Fortune magazines 100 Best Companies to Work For list. Joby Aviation, a company developing electric air taxis for commercial passenger service, announced the successful closing of the first $250 million tranche of a previously announced strategic investment from Toyota Motor Corporation. The funding marks a significant milestone in strengthening the long-term collaboration between the two companies and supports their shared vision for the future of air mobility. The investment is aimed at supporting certification and commercial production of Joby’s electric air taxi. Powered by six electric motors, their aircraft takes off and lands vertically, giving it the flexibility to serve almost any community.
