Hyundai Motor Manufacturing to spend $292,000,000.00 to expand in Montgomery Alabama.

Montgomery, Alabama — According to state and local economic development sources Hyundai Motor Manufacturing plans to invest $292,000,000.00 to build out new space in Montgomery. The company plans to occupy the new space in Montgomery, on or about October 1, 2020. According to the company website Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama, LLC (HMMA), is Hyundai’s first assembly and manufacturing plant in the United States. This $1.7 billion automotive plant is one of the most advanced assembly plants in North America. The $1.7 billion plant is the company’s first U.S. manufacturing facility and employs more than 3,000 people with high-paying jobs and full benefits. Additionally, more than 72 suppliers have located businesses throughout North America to support the Hyundai plant. Altogether, these suppliers are expected to create 5,500 additional jobs with a combined capital investment of $500 million.
