Rural King plans new project in Henry County, Virginia
Martinsville, Virginia — According to state and local development sources, Rural King plans to invest $40 Million to build out 500,000 square feet of new space in Martinsville. The company is creating 150 new jobs at this facility. The company plans to occupy the new space at Patriot Centre Industrial Park in Martinsville, on or about May 1, 2027. According to the company website, Rural King, also known as RK Holdings, LLP, is Americas Farm and Home Store, and a General Merchandise and Department Store, providing essentials to the communities we serve. More specifically, we provide a broad range of necessities, essential goods, food, feed, seed and other farm and home products. Rural King planted its roots in Mattoon, Illinois in 1960. Since that time, Rural King has added over 150 stores in a seventeen-state area (Alabama, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Michigan, Missouri, Pennsylvania, Florida, North Carolina, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, South Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia). The heart of Rural King is the corporate office, distribution center and flagship store, located in its city of origin, Mattoon IL.
