August 14, 2026 Craig Etkin

Cape Canaveral, Florida — According to state and local development sources, Relativity Space plans to invest $134 Million to expand in Cape Canaveral. The company is creating 2,000 new jobs at this facility. The company plans to occupy the new space in Cape Canaveral, on or about January 1, 2030. According to the company website, Relativity Space is on a mission to make access to space more reliable and routine. Our medium-to-heavy lift reusable rocket, Terran R, will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But thats just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known. We build reusable rockets that make access to space more reliable and routine—empowering science, exploration, and innovation beyond our planet. Energized with new leadership and a bold mission, we’re launching forward with purpose and precision. Innovation doesn’t stop at rockets. From cutting-edge research labs, next-generation manufacturing, and interplanetary exploration, we’re building the technologies that push boundaries far beyond launch.  Since 2016, we’ve grown into a team of 2,000 experts in aerospace, manufacturing, propulsion, software, and more – all driven by a shared belief that space should be open and accessible.  In 2025, we began a new chapter under the leadership of former Google CEO Eric Schmidt. His experience in technology and national security is helping us move faster, scale smarter, and aim higher.
