Houston, Texas — According to state and local development sources, Houston Food Bank plans to invest $110,000,000.00 to build out 533,661 square feet of new space in Houston. The company plans to occupy the space at 2121 W Mt Houston Rd in Houston, on or about January 1, 2028. According to the company website, Around 1 million people in the 18 southeast Texas counties served by Houston Food Bank are considered food-insecure, meaning they lack consistent access to enough nutritious food to fuel a healthy life. In order to address this issue, Houston Food Bank distributes food and other essentials to those in need through a network of more than 1,600 community partners. In addition, we also provide programs and services aimed at helping families achieve long-term stability including nutrition education, health management, and help in securing state-funded assistance. Located at 535 Portwall, the Houston Food Bank is a 308,000 square foot facility that consists of a warehouse, kitchen and conference center. Through a network of more than 1,600 community partners and Affiliate Food Banks, we are able to service 18 counties in the Southeast Texas area.
