Kimba Introduces AI-Powered Scent Therapy for Better Sleep

June 18, 2026 Craig Etkin

The clinically validated sleep technology company launches with $6.5 million in funding led by Selva Ventures to pioneer a new category of adaptive scent-based sleep improvement

New York, NY – June 16, 2026 – Today, sleep technology company Kimba announced its launch and $6.5 million funding round led by Selva Ventures, introducing a clinically validated, AI-powered approach to improving sleep through adaptive scent therapy. Developed alongside leading sleep and neuroscience researchers, Kimba sits at the intersection of consumer health and sleep science and is designed to actively improve sleep rather than simply track it. By using the olfactory pathway, the only sensory channel capable of infl uencing the brain during sleep without causing wakefulness, Kimba delivers personalized scent interventions designed to support deeper, more restorative rest without drugs or disruption.

Kimba was founded by former special forces commander Ben Fuxbruner, whose personal experience shaped the company’s mission. After a near-death injury led to PTSD and chronic insomnia, Fuxbruner turned to science in search of a solution, ultimately building the system he wished had existed.

“Kimba was built on a simple but powerful idea that sleep shouldn’t just be measured, it should be improved,” said Ben Fuxbruner, Founder and CEO of Kimba. “We’re introducing a fundamentally new approach that uses scent to work with the brain during sleep, helping people achieve deeper, more restorative rest without drugs or disruption. For me, it was life-changing.”

Kimba builds a personalized sleep profi le for each person and proprietary water-based and plant-derived scent formulations tailored to their sleep patterns and preferences. Throughout the night, Kimba continuously monitors biometric signals including breathing patterns, movement, heart rate variability, and stress indicators through built-in sensors in the Kimba device and integrations with wearables including WHOOP, Oura, Apple Watch, Fitbit, and Garmin. Kimba’s adaptive AI analyzes this data in real time to understand the body’s changing sleep state and deliver precisely timed scent cues throughout the night, personalized to optimize sleep depth, continuity and recovery. The result is a seamless, drug-free, non-invasive sleep system designed to actively improve sleep quality without pills, grogginess or dependency.

The company’s approach is backed by early clinical validation. In a recent study of 50 participants over 48 nights, conducted with Dr. Anat Arzi, an expert in olfactory neuroscience, Kimba demonstrated signifi cant improvements in sleep quality and cognitive performance. The company is advancing two additional clinical studies under the guidance of world-renowned sleep expert Professor Peretz Lavie, focused on sleep environments using polysomnography (PSG) testing to evaluate physiological sleep outcomes and another focused on mental health and PTSD to explore Kimba’s impact on sleep and recovery.

“The infl uence of sensory input during sleep is signifi cant,” said Dr. Arzi. “Olfactory stimulation is uniquely benefi cial for this because it can infl uence brain activity without waking the individual. By aligning scent delivery with specifi c breathing patterns, sleep stages and physiological signals, this approach has the potential to meaningfully improve sleep quality.”

The company recently closed a $6.5 million funding round led by Selva Ventures, a leading consumer health and wellness investor whose portfolio includes fast-growing brands such as Grüns and OneSkin. The funding will support Kimba’s commercial launch and accelerate the company’s efforts to redefi ne the sleep technology category by moving beyond passive tracking toward active, personalized sleep improvement.

“Sleep is one of the most critical and underserved pillars of health,” said Kiva Dickinson, Founder of Selva Ventures. “Kimba represents a breakthrough in how we improve sleep, shifting the category from passive tracking to active intervention. We’re proud to support the team as they bring this technology to market.”

With its commercial debut, Kimba is making its technology available to consumers for the fi rst time, marking a major step toward redefining how sleep is treated in modern health and wellness.

Visit www.kimba.ai for more information and to register for pre-order. Pre-orders include a 6-month membership and the Kimba device, software, and a 6-month supply of personalized scents, for $299.

About Kimba:

Kimba is the next evolution of sleep technology, moving beyond passive tracking to active, personalized sleep improvement. While millions of people use wearables to measure sleep, Kimba is designed to improve it through adaptive scent based technology powered by real time biometric feedback and AI. Clinically proven and validated, the platform was developed alongside leading sleep and neuroscience researchers to create a new approach to improving sleep quality and recovery. Founded by former special forces commander Ben Fuxbruner after a near death injury led to PTSD and chronic insomnia, the company was built from personal need to solve one of the most persistent challenges in modern health: sleep. Kimba continuously monitors biometric signals throughout the night and delivers precisely timed scent cues through the olfactory pathway, the only sensory channel capable of reaching the brain during sleep without waking the user. The contactless system uses proprietary water-based and plant-derived scent formulations and works silently in the background to support deeper, more continuous sleep with no pills, no grogginess, and no dependency.

Across the United States, a new industrial age is taking shape. Trillions of dollars in infrastructure, from energy projects and advanced manufacturing to data centers and critical mineral facilities, must be built in the next decade. But large construction projects are slower and more expensive today than they were half a century ago. Unlimited Industries, a California-based company using AI to rethink how infrastructure gets built, has raised $12 million in seed funding to change that. The round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and CIV, with participation from leading industry investors. The capital will accelerate Unlimited’s expansion and further develop its proprietary AI platform – one designed to make large-scale engineering and construction faster, cheaper, and more ambitious.

Unlike traditional construction firms or standard software companies, Unlimited is an AI-native construction company that both designs and builds. Its proprietary platform can generate and evaluate hundreds of thousands of design configurations in parallel, automatically identifying optimal layouts for cost, safety, and performance before construction begins. By integrating AI-driven design with its own vertically integrated engineering and construction teams, Unlimited eliminates the costly handoffs and misaligned incentives that have defined the industry for decades.

In a statement Alex Modon, Co-Founder and CEO of Unlimited Industries said, “Advances in AI mean we can finally build the physical world the way we build software.” “The traditional construction model is slow, brittle, and fundamentally misaligned. Our approach replaces static design choices with a dynamic, data-driven process that learns from every project. The result is faster, cheaper, and more successful projects.”

Unlimited is an AI-native construction company headquartered in San Francisco. Today, the company designs and builds across energy infrastructure, data centers, critical minerals, and advanced manufacturing, helping developers build with greater speed, ambition, and efficiency. Their mission is to build a future of radical physical abundance by automating construction end-to-end. The company was founded in 2025 by serial founders Alex Modon, Jordan Stern, and Tara Viswanathan.
