AI-Powered Cognitive Rehab Leader Moneta Health Raises $4.5M, Expands Access with Benefis Health System Partnership

AI-Powered Cognitive Rehab Leader Moneta Health Raises $4.5M, Expands Access with Benefis Health System Partnership

October 17, 2025 Craig Etkin

LAS VEGAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Moneta Health, a brain health company pioneering cognitive rehabilitation therapy through AI-powered delivery, today announced a $4.5 million funding round and a new partnership with Benefis Health System to expand access to cognitive care in neurology deserts. The company has signed a multi-year partnership with Benefis Health System in Montana and secured investment from venture capital firms including True Ventures and Health2047, the American Medical Association’s venture studio, to support its mission of expanding access to cognitive care, with a focus on regions with insufficient access to neurology care.

We do physical therapy for our bodies. Why not for our brains?Share

Cognitive impairment affects 32% of adults over 65, impacting 250 million people globally. Despite the demand for treatment, many are told that effective options are limited. “Cognitive rehabilitation therapy, which is like physical therapy for the brain, is a proven behavioral intervention for slowing cognitive decline and preserving independence,” explains Moneta Health co-founder Jen Flexman. “Despite the benefits, fewer than 20% of patients are accessing this treatment in outpatient settings.”

Through Moneta’s clinically-proven program, patients speak with their licensed therapist by phone, and engage in cognitive exercises between visits with Moneta’s AI-powered therapy assistant by phone, eliminating the need for apps or a high-speed internet connection.

Moneta shared its real-world clinical outcomes at the recent Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in Toronto. Over the course of the program, patients’ cognitive function significantly improved on average by 18%, which exceeds the U.S. national benchmark of 13% for traditional outpatient therapy.

“Making cognitive care more accessible is a personal mission,” said Paul A. Campbell, co-founder and CEO of Moneta Health. “My mother was diagnosed with dementia in 2017. I wish we had a platform like Moneta earlier in our family’s journey to maintain her cognitive function for longer.”

Moneta is backed by investment from leading venture capital firms and global investors including True Ventures, Health2047, Impact America Fund, BKR Capital, Koru, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and the Centre for Aging + Brain Health Innovation (CABHI), and recently closed a $4.5 million USD round.

“Physicians everywhere are struggling to find effective, scalable solutions for patients with complex cognitive needs, particularly in regions with few or no neurologists,” said Lawrence K. Cohen, PhD, CEO of Health2047. “Moneta’s model brings clinically proven therapy directly to patients’ homes, giving physicians a new solution to address this critical gap in care.” The investment will fuel product development, clinical research, and expansion into other underserved regions.

This funding follows a $2.2M pre-seed round raised in March 2023, led by True Ventures shortly after Moneta was founded. “Moneta is the second time we’ve invested in a company founded by Paul. The company is solving an important problem in a growing market that touches so many lives,” said Phil Black, co-founding partner at True Ventures.

Along with funding, Moneta has announced a multi-year partnership with Montana-based Benefis Health System to integrate its cognitive rehab platform into the health system’s healthy aging care pathway. “We are excited to partner with Moneta to make personalized, evidence-based cognitive rehabilitation the standard of care for our patients and families,” noted Dr. Greg Tierney, President of System Clinical Operations at Benefis Health System. “Montana is vast and has the sixth oldest population in the nation. Moneta’s proven program is an accessible approach to proactive brain health for our aging demographic.”

In addition to operating in Montana, Moneta’s virtual clinic treats patients in Florida, Nevada, Washington, and West Virginia, with plans to expand nationally. The program is reimbursed by Medicare, TRICARE and a growing number of Medicare Advantage plans including Aetna, Blue Cross, Humana, OPTUM and Sunshine Health.

As cognitive impairment and dementia rates continue to rise, Moneta aims to redefine how therapy is delivered and reimagine the treatment and prevention of cognitive decline. With its unique model, the company is actively building partnerships with additional health systems, payers, and community-based organizations across the U.S.

Flex has closed a $60 million Series B equity round led by Portage, bringing total equity raised to $105 million. In the last year, the company has quadrupled revenue and tripled its payments volume to $3 billion as it scales its all-in-one business and personal finance platform for high-net-worth middle-market business owners. Running a profitable middle-market business has become one of the most complex financial jobs in America, with owners often juggling more than ten disconnected systems to manage their money. Flex was created to give these high net worth owners a single place to run both their business and personal finances. This latest $60 Million equity round, followed by its $200 Million debt and $25 Million equity raise announced earlier this year, builds on a period of rapid hypergrowth. In just 12 months, Flex has grown revenue fourfold and increased annualized total payments volume from $1 billion to $3 billion across a suite of products, positioning Flex as one of the fastest-growing fintech companies at scale with best-in-class capital efficiency.

This integrated model has allowed Flex to scale with high efficiency and has created a strong foundation for its expansion into personal finance.

Across the United States, a new industrial age is taking shape. Trillions of dollars in infrastructure, from energy projects and advanced manufacturing to data centers and critical mineral facilities, must be built in the next decade. But large construction projects are slower and more expensive today than they were half a century ago. Unlimited Industries, a California-based company using AI to rethink how infrastructure gets built, has raised $12 million in seed funding to change that. The round was co-led by Andreessen Horowitz and CIV, with participation from leading industry investors. The capital will accelerate Unlimited’s expansion and further develop its proprietary AI platform – one designed to make large-scale engineering and construction faster, cheaper, and more ambitious.

Unlike traditional construction firms or standard software companies, Unlimited is an AI-native construction company that both designs and builds. Its proprietary platform can generate and evaluate hundreds of thousands of design configurations in parallel, automatically identifying optimal layouts for cost, safety, and performance before construction begins. By integrating AI-driven design with its own vertically integrated engineering and construction teams, Unlimited eliminates the costly handoffs and misaligned incentives that have defined the industry for decades.

In a statement Alex Modon, Co-Founder and CEO of Unlimited Industries said, “Advances in AI mean we can finally build the physical world the way we build software.” “The traditional construction model is slow, brittle, and fundamentally misaligned. Our approach replaces static design choices with a dynamic, data-driven process that learns from every project. The result is faster, cheaper, and more successful projects.”

Unlimited is an AI-native construction company headquartered in San Francisco. Today, the company designs and builds across energy infrastructure, data centers, critical minerals, and advanced manufacturing, helping developers build with greater speed, ambition, and efficiency. Their mission is to build a future of radical physical abundance by automating construction end-to-end. The company was founded in 2025 by serial founders Alex Modon, Jordan Stern, and Tara Viswanathan.
